I actually got a whole stack of books from her, as well as the huge pile I already had, and you know how these things continually breed (or occasionally follow you home like a lost puppy). So when this was one of the books Shara of calico_reaction was offering in her used book sale, I pounced on it. It also evokes memories of Ilona Andrews's Kate Daniels series, and that can't be a bad thing either. but in reality, it strongly reminded me of the cover for Patricia Briggs's Raven's Shadow, which I loooove, so naturally I had to assume this could be equally as awesome. What's not to like about this? I could talk about the muted colours, the distant background, the use of lighting, how I totally want her clothes. Hooded woman is obviously not someone to be messed with, she's both fully clothed and standing in a natural position, and she has an awesome pet lion.

I basically bought this one because of the cover art.
